Third transnational partner meeting in Baia Mare

Third transnational partner meeting in Baia Mare

The VOICE partners met in Romania to exchange experiences on the piloting training of young people and plan the next project activities.

Between the 10th and 11th November, the third transnational partner meeting took place in Baia Mare (Romania), hosted by the two partner organisations from Romania, Vis Juventum Association and Baia Mare Prison.

The meeting was streamed to allow representatives from partner organisations that couldn’t join the face-to-face meeting to attend online.

For our new readers, we remind you that The VOICE Project focuses on both young people in conflict with the law in custodial measures and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. It aims to support the implementation of the new EU Youth Strategy (2019-2027), making the voices of these young people heard, and improving their knowledge on EU youth policies.

The partners are moving forward with the implementation of VOICE activities. Some are finalising the sessions of the Training Toolbox and this meeting was a great opportunity to exchange experiences in carrying out the piloting of the toolbox. This is aimed to train and involve young people in conflict with the law as well as youngsters with fewer opportunities on European projects and European values in different countries.

Furthermore, partners addressed the activities of the project they will carry out over the coming months: initiatives to prevent crime and violence in young people’s communities, youth dialogue meetings with decision makers in their communities, multiplier events to disseminate the VOICE project nationally, a youth mobility in Strasbourg to get to know European Union institutions and exchange with other young people, and the project’s final conference in Lisbon. They also discussed key issues related to the management, dissemination and quality evaluation of the project.

It was a very productive meeting that helped the project activities to move forward, consolidated the partnership and allowed many of the attendees to visit the Baia Mare Prison and get to know its extensive experience in EU funded projects as well as the work that Vis Juventum delivers with services to children and adolescents in vulnerable situations in the municipality of Baia Mare.

On the first a visit to Sighet and the Memorial of the Victims of Communism and of the Resistance was organised.
